They Met In A Methodist Basement
At A Meeting On A Monday Night
Said Serenity Prayers, Folded Up The Chairs
Shared A Sidewalk Marlboro Light

She Said, "I Like The Way That Sounds"

So Two Divorced Non-Drinkers
Become Two Maybe More Than Friends

Cooks Her Supper Every Now And Then
They Made Things Kinda Official
Taking In That Old Half-Blind Hound
Once Upon A Second Time Around
Chorus
Sometimes Life Hits A Brick Wall
And A "Happy Ever After" Ends
You Gotta Let Go Of That Fairytale
For The Next One To Begin
They Don't Regret A Single Step
Got 'Em Where They Are Right Now

They Played Pachelbel's Canon On The Boombox
His Son Walked Her Down The Aisle
With A Bouquet Of Backyard Roses
And A Took-Some-Tears-To-Get-Here Smile

In That Cream-Colored Hand Me Down, Oh Oh
Once Upon A Second Time Around
