Small Town
Rebekah Snyder
Intro
Chorus
I Recommend Dropping By To A Small Town
If You're Old Or Young Whether You're Inbound Or Outbound
'Cause It's The Kind Of Place Wherever You Go
There's A Sky Full Of Stars And Folks That You Know
I Recommend Dropping By To A Small Town
Verse
Cross The Road And The Softball Field
There's A Township Building Where They're Drinking Some Beer
It's A Fundraiser For The Volleyball Team
And My Cousin's Daughter's In The Dunking Machine
The Sportsmans' Club's Just A Quarter Mile Farther
We Used To Wade Down In The Creek In That Water
Where They Stock The Trout Religiously
Gets The Same Crowd On Friday Church Gets On Sunday Yeah
Chorus
I Recommend Growing Up In A Small Town
And I Promise You It'll Always Be Somewhere You Can't Go Wrong
Ain't A Soul That I Met Ever Said They Regret
Those Ties That Bind And Bond
I Recommend Growing Up In A Small Town
Verse
Well If You're Early Enough On The First Day Of Fishing
The County Commissioner Got Pancakes He's Flipping
Talking Why The Republicans Oughta Ban Betting
Man He Could Talk Off Your Ear If You'd Let Him
His Middle Daughter Was My Best Friend
And Before We Had Kids We Could Raise Up Some Cain
Now Saturday Morning It's Coffee And Sports
You Might See The Same Faces From The Bar Years Before And I
Chorus
I'd Recommend Raising Kids In A Small Town
You Know You Want Them To Have Somewhere They'll Always Belong
Tell Them No Matter What Road That They Take
No Matter The Twists Or The Turns Or Mistakes
Open Arms Stay Waiting For Them In Their Small Town
Bridge
I Took The Kids Up To The Cemetery
To Show Them Where Their Great Grandmother's Buried
Reading The Names Of The Fallen We Hardly Passed Any
That Didn't Match The Names From The Kids' Elementary
If They Were Legends In Their Own Day Then
Their Great Grandbabies Are Growing Up Playing
Football On The Same Hometown Team
Wearing The Same Colors Living The Same Dream
Chorus
That's Why I Recommend Coming Home To A Small Town (In A Small Town)
If You Do You'll Always Have A Place To Lay Your Head Down (Your Head Down)
'Cause It's A Safe Haven A Place To Heal
Wherever You Go It'll Always Be Here I
I Recommend Coming Home To A Small Town
Oh The Land Stays The Same Here Though The People Might Change
Come And Go Take Their Turn Have Their Time On The Stage
Some Say It Takes A Village I Say It Takes A Small Town
Outro
I Recommend
I Recommend A Small Town (A Small Town)
I Recommend
I Recommend A Smaaaall Town
