Portugal. The Man is an American rock band from Wasilla, Alaska and based in Portland, Oregon. The group currently consists of founding member John Gourley, joined by a group of touring musicians for live performances. Gourley and co-founding bassist Zach Carothers met and began playing music together in 2001 at Wasilla High School.
